Join us for our Classic Film Series screening of "Cinema Paradiso”. This 1988 Italian-French coming-of-age comedy-drama, starring Phillipe Noiret and Jacques Perrin, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, won several Academy Awards. Watch the trailer here. Young Salvatore forms a lifelong bond with Alfredo, the projectionist at the local cinema in a small Italian village. The story follows Salvatore from childhood to adulthood, tracing love, ambition, and nostalgia for cinema and community. Note New Time. The January monthly meeting will begin at 8:30 am with a buffet breakfast to welcome the many new members who have joined the Grange recently, and socialize with long-time members. Learn how to make paper beads to create jewelry and ornaments for the holiday season. We’ll be crafting & art making with up-cycled materials and more! Bring left-over wrapping paper, magazines, decorative papers, beads, string. We'll provide paper (all kinds), markers, colored pencils, and limited jewelry-making supplies and key rings. Matthew Pirrone, President of the East Chatham Grange, will be here to conduct a Pomona Grange Meeting. Members of the Subordinate Grange, Copake Grange 935, are invited to attend. It will be an opportunity to share ideas with our County Grange, find out more about what the Grange does on the State and National levels, and to discover and participate in our wider Grange community. Legislative proposals focused on topics related to rural and agricultural lifestyles and preservation of farms and farmland will be discussed. Lunch is provided and a $5 donation is suggested.
