Restoration Work on Historic Grange Hall

Funding that we received from donations to the Friends of Copake Grange has allowed us to finally start the restoration process of our 1902 era windows. We are delighted! Our window restorer, Ed Smyth of Smyth Window Salvation and Revival has the knowledge and expertise we have been seeking, and as he worked to remove the first two, he educated us on the process.  We felt as if we were in a live episode of This Old House!

This, of course, will be an ongoing project, and we are grateful to our contributors supporting our efforts to preserve Grange Hall, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

This link will take you to our YouTube playlist that contains 3 videos each of many taken of the removal, and the re-installment process of the first window.

But wait, there’s more!

This is just a sampling. You can see more by checking out the Copake Grange YouTube channel, or following @copake_grange on Instagram, and the “Copake Grange” Facebook page.
